The Brazilians thrashed Chiefs 4-0 in the league in August with Bvuma in goal and Artur Zwane has not played the 27-year-old goalkeeper since then.

And Bruce believes Chiefs somehow blame Bvuma for the four goals he conceded against Sundowns, even though it wasn’t his fault.

This season, following the departure of Daniel Akpei at the end of last term, Bvuma has been Amakhosi’s number one alongside Brandon Petersen.

However, Khun appears to have risen from the ashes and reclaimed the position he has held for years at Chiefs after already playing in three consecutive matches.

Bruce has now admitted he was sad to leave Bvuma out of his Bafana Bafana squad to face Sierra Leone and Botswana later this month.

But his hands were tied as Bwuma has not played for Chiefs in recent times, although he believes the South African international should play regularly at club level.

Bruce said that although Khun is a good goalkeeper as he saw him play for Bafana Bafana when he coached Cameroon, Bvuma should play because he is younger.

HUGO BRUZ: WHY BVUMA SHOULD PLAY FOR KAIZER CHIEFS AND NOT KHUNE

“I am very sad about the Bvuma situation. Sometimes he played, sometimes he didn’t play. It’s like being blamed for the 4-0 loss to Sundowns,” Bruce said on SABC 1.

“But it wasn’t his fault. Okay, Khun is a good keeper. I faced him when I was with Cameroon but Bvuma is younger and he should play,” Bruce added.
