Rugby Championship result: Springboks dominate All Blacks in brilliant win
The Springboks put in a brilliant performance to completely dominate the All Blacks to claim a comfortable 26-10 victory in their Rugby Championship opener at a packed Mbombela Stadium on Saturday night.
A massive crowd of over 42,000 roared for the home side, led by a magnificent 55-minute show by Malcolm Marx in his 50thousand emergence for the Boks, with him an absolute menace at the breakdown, earning him a well-deserved man-of-the-match award.
Handre Pollard enjoyed a superb performance with the boots, kicking three penalties, two conversions and a goal, while wing Kurt-Lee Arendse scored the Boks’ first try before being shown a late red card.
Chele leads ministerial meeting in Krugersdorp after protests against illegal miners
Police Minister Bheki Chele led a ministerial crackdown on crime at Imbizo in West Village, Krugersdorp, on Saturday following protests in the West Rand against crime and illegal mining.
Imbizo took place in the same community where eight young women were gang-raped last Thursday while filming a music video at an abandoned mine.
The alleged perpetrators are zama zamas (illegal miners) who live and mine illegally in the area.
IPID is investigating the Ekurhuleni police following the death of four people during protests in Tembisa

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is investigating police officers in Ekurhuleni metro following the death of four Tembisa residents during violent protests earlier this week.
Mayor Tanya Campbell spoke to the public on Friday and promised to improve services for residents.
From Monday to Wednesday, thousands of residents shut down the East Rand township due to high electricity bills, congestion and crime. Streets were barricaded with burning tires, branches and trash.

An East Rand man has described in horrifying detail how two pit bull terriers attacked him during his morning jog in Edenvale on Friday.
