Macazol Mappimpi has signed a new contract with the Sharks, which will remain in Durban for the next three years.

The Springbok winger will now remain in the franchise until 2025.

The Mapimpi extension is the latest in a series of new signing and renewal contracts recently announced by Sharks.

On Monday, the franchise announced that the experienced half of Lionel Cronier will return to Durban, while the squeaky Grant Williams also extended his stay.

Last weekend, new contracts were confirmed with support for Diane Blair, castles Emile van Herden and Reniel Hugo and defender Anthony Wolminck, and last week the Lions duo Vincent Cituk and Carl Sadie signed.

Springboks Eben Etzebet and Rohan Jans van Ransburg also travel to Durban – from Toulon in France and Sale Sharks in England respectively.

The franchise also confirmed that center-back Springbok LuhaƱo Am has returned to the team after a two-month stay in Japan.

The Sharks are third in the URC standings and will be aiming for a place in the home quarter-finals when they play Leinster on Friday night in Ireland.
