Former South African Finance Minister Tito Mboweni recently had people wondering if he was trying to lose weight. That’s because the former minister turned social media star and amateur chef took a break from his usual stew and curry and opted for a nice and lean chicken soup instead.
Taking to his favorite Twitter app, Tito shared a few snaps of the soup he ordered from a local restaurant and instantly sparked a flurry of reactions from his followers who seemed to be following him all the time.
Tita Mboweni trades stew for soup
Tito Mboweni has caught the attention on social media and they seem to be entertaining each other well.
Earlier this week, the fun-loving former minister had many of his followers wondering if he was trying to lose weight after sharing a post of him eating something he never eats – soup.
On August 10, Tito shared a photo of a wonderful dinner on Twitter, captioning it:
“Dinner tonight @ironcrownpub. Chicken soup and brown bread. @golimpopo.”
Food speculation begins
Many immediately began to question his food choices. Some even wondered if the ex-minister is trying to lose a couple of centimeters around the waist.
Others, however, simply criticized the appearance of the food, which they said looked rather “boring” and not appetizing at all.

“This has got to be the most boring chicken soup I’ve ever seen. Minister, can I make you my famous chicken soup when I get back to Mzansi? I insist, for the chicken’s sake. 😅”
