CAPE TOWN – A seven-year-old girl died in a house fire in Beacon Valley, Cape Town, early on Sunday morning.
City Fire and Rescue spokesman Jermaine Carells says they were called to the fire shortly before midnight.
According to him, the house was completely destroyed by fire, and neighboring objects were also damaged.
The fire was extinguished on Sunday morning.
“Two adults with smoke inhalation and a child with 2nd degree burns were taken to the hospital. The girl, whose body was found in one of the bedrooms of the house, was supposed to be 7 years old.
Karels says the cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, but the matter has been handed over to police for investigation.
