Motional, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Group and Aptiv, is trying stand-alone supplies for Uber Eats in Santa Monica, California, using EV.
Restaurants receive notification of the arrival of the automotive industry, a meeting with the vehicle at a specific location and placing an order in the compartment in the back seat. Upon arrival at the destination, the customer receives a warning that through the application you can safely unlock the car door and pick up the order.
The trial service will allow Motional and Uber to explore the integration of their technologies, consumer demand, user interaction with AV and the additional autonomy features needed for offline deliveries.
Uber believes that AVs play a long-term role for a variety of users and plans to introduce this technology.
Abe Gabra, Chief Operating Officer of Motional, said: “This service will provide the training and experience needed for [us] a reliable AV provider for on-demand delivery networks ”.
