Apple late on Wednesday sent invitations to the media for an event on September 7, where analysts expect the company to unveil the new iPhones, a week before the traditional autumn event in the northern hemisphere.
If Apple sticks to its pattern of shipping devices roughly a week and a half after they’re unveiled, it could add two weeks of iPhone sales to the company’s fiscal fourth quarter.
Analysts expect that Apple will introduce the iPhone 14 model of the new generation. Apple is expected to unveil new Apple Watch, iPad and Mac computer models soon, some possibly at an event in September.
While the company has largely insulated the iPhone from supply chain turbulence, it warned in an earnings report last month that parts shortages could hamper sales of some of its other products.
Apple plans to hold the event in the Steve Jobs Theater at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. The event will be the first in-person indoor event since the start of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. Apple held an event for developers earlier this year, but the main presentation took place outdoors at its headquarters.
