DURBAN – KwaZulu-Natal Finance MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube has been selected as the new premiership candidate for the African National Congress (ANC).
The party announced this on Monday.
This happened after Sile Zikalala stepped down from the post.
The ANC nominated three female candidates last week, and on Monday the party announced Dubey as its prime ministerial candidate.
Party Provincial Secretary Bheki Mtola: “Today we have great pleasure in announcing to you that Comrade Nomusa Dube-Ncube is the lead candidate. She is not new to the leadership position, as she held various positions in the organization and in the government.”
Dube will become the first female Prime Minister of KwaZulu-Natal.
