After a two-year hiatus forced by the coronavirus, 95th Comrades Marathon will take place on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

It will be a run down from the Pietermaritzburg Town Hall to the Moses Mabida Stadium in Durban.
The starter arrow will sound 05:30 and runners will have 12 o’clock finish the race with a cut off on 17:30.

The official race distance this year is 89.885 km, which means runners will run 299 m shorter more than in 2018, mainly as a result of ongoing roadworks along the route.
The race was last held in 2019 Edward Motibi winning the men’s race in 5:31:33 Gerda Stein was the women’s winner with a record time of 5:58:53.

The male and female winners will receive R260,000 and a gold medal.
Second and third will receive R130,000 and R90,000 respectively, while the 10th and final gold medalist will receive R12,000.
