Manchester United have unveiled their new third kit for the 2022-2023 season, revealing a bright green kit that has never been seen before. Following on from previous releases this season, adidas aim to pay tribute to the heritage of kits from the past by taking a bold step with a fresh design.
For the first time in the club’s history, adidas presents a striking new interpretation of the club’s classic color for the eye-catching ‘Solar Slime’ one-piece jersey. The color green has long had strong connotations with the history of Manchester United. However, we’ve never seen it done like this, and we’ve seen plenty.
As a club with a strong visual identity, it’s no surprise that the geometric pattern takes center stage on both the collar and the shirt itself. Drawing inspiration from the 90s fashion culture Zeitgeist, the crew neck collar is dressed in a striking graphic, finishing off the bright design beautifully.
Ahead of its release, Inigo Turner, Adidas’ design director, spoke of the new kit as “a convergence of cultural symbols, remixed and recorded, the 22/23 third kit takes inspiration from Manchester United’s iconic graphic identity using geometric shapes and patterns. .”
